This is the ancient hebrew definition for the word eth which is spelled alef tav which are the first and last letters of the hebrew alphabet. in the book of revelations when Jesus said i am the alpha and omega (the first and last letters in the greek alphabet) that was actually translated from hebrew, which is the language that the book of revelations was originally written in. so he would have actually said "i am the alef and the tav" or the eth.
note: the greek letters were also considered by the greeks to be representatives of theirs gods, so Jesus never would have called himself the alpha or the omega. The pictograph a is a picture of an ox. The t is a picture of two crossed sticks (which form a cross) used to make a sign or mark. Combined these pictures represent "an ox moving toward a mark". When plowing a field with oxen, the plowman drives the oxen toward a distant mark in order to keep the furrow straight. A traveler arrives at his destination by following a mark. The traveling toward a mark, destination or person. The arrival of one to the mark. A "you" is an individual who has arrived to a "me". The coming toward a mark. A standard, or flag, with the family mark hangs as a sign. An agreement or covenant by two where a sign or mark of the agreement is made as a reminder to both parties. also this word (alef tav or eth) is used a total of 7,373 times in the old testament. it's usual not translated into english, so u would never even know it was there in an english bible, but most importantly Jesus said that he was the alef and tav and it's used a total of 7,373 times in the old testament. i was told that most rabbis don't even know what it really means, but we do, lol. Jesus told the pharisees that they search the scriptures thinking that they will find eternal life and it's they that speak of him, amen to that, lol. note: read [philppians 3:14] note: him and them in [gen.1:27] is the word eth (alef tav). |
